Good wishes for the New Year

Another year begins and I hope that it will bring many blessings and opportinities to each of us.

May there be times to slow down, strive less and enjoy the simple pleasures of being alive…to give thanks for the quiet everyday miracles that need no attention!

I was delighted to have the opportunity to travel to Japan just before Christmas for some concerts to promote ‘MUJI BGM17’, a CD of Irish music that I performed on produced by MUJI.

I have wanted to visit Japan for a long time so it was a great treat to finally get the opportunity and I loved it….I hope I will have the chance to visit again soon!

I was lucky enough to work with some wonderful musicians over there – fiddler Brendan O’Sullivan, accordian and melodeon player Damien Mullane and guitarist Matt Griffin – and one of the many highlights of the trip for me was taking part in a session in the Irish pub. It was AMAZING to hear Japanese musicians playing Irish tunes with such passion – especially when I discovered that many of them had never been to Ireland. So, it is certainly true to say that the magic of Irish music travels and touches people far and wide…even as far away as Tokyo!

This website will be undergoing some upgrades in the coming months so I hope to be in touch more regularly with updates on my adventures – both musical and mindful!

In the meantime, my mindfulness teaching schedule for Spring 2013 is taking shape and details of upcoming courses can be found in the mindfulness and events sections of the site.

Blessings and good wishes for now,

Fionnuala 🙂
